United Arab Emirates is a group of women who involve in small scale businesses or economic activities. Most of the ventures are totally concerned of home based enterprises. There is little support that focuses on the women managed enterprises and offering some crucial assistance to help women entrepreneurs to overcome some of the important problems that they encounter. More findings done indicate that women entrepreneurs are young and very educated. A good number of women who has started small business enterprise had already worked within the government where they accumulated enough capital and skills for starting their business enterprise. The home based activities that they involve include small scale manufacturing and trading services.Objective of the researchThe objective of this research was to form the policies and the design of the support program that can help the UAE women to initiate and expand their small businesses. The study is based on stimulation of the UAE women to join private business, to acquire more insight on their qualification and experiences in initiating a business and finally the demand for support for women entrepreneurs.MethodologyUse of standard questionnaire on the UAE women managed small enterprises suited the process of data collection followed by conduction of interviews that are relevant to the objective of the research. the Emirati women were interviewed deeply and in groups as a method of acquiring more hidden information from them. Conduction of both open interview and close interview was also conducted.During the date collection process, there are several problems that were encountered. The main problem that was encountered during the research was the identification of UAE women small business entrepreneurs. Lack of sampling frame compelled, the contacts that were given by the women union in different places such as Abu Dhabi, the business women council in Sharjah, the DEB and Tanmia staff were consulted. Even though there were these several groups, their contacts were limited since the majority of the telephone numbers were disconnected and some were out of service. Most of the women conducted were out of no online or some had lost the business. Some women conducted were too busy and were unable to provide the correct information. All these findings of the survey did not provide conclusive and extensive expected results.The number of questionnaires that were used for survey was 30. Dubai and Shrjah are the areas where most of the survey was done. The great efforts for interviewing more than 300 names and telephone numbers of the UAE women entrepreneurs in the Dhabi dint meet the objective of the findings.( Krause, 2008).Emirate No of WSEs Abu Dhabi 2 Dubai 17 Sharjah 9 Ajman 2 Total 30 The large percentage of the women who were interviewed was young wi th a small percentage being old. The majority of the women were educated with almost a big percentage of the owning master degree. Most of the women had studied a broad and had good entrepreneurial skills. A good number of women had acquired good training skills that can help in fueling their business abroad. The above is evidenced by a large number of respondents who said that they had acquired relevant qualifications and skills that could influence the success of the business enterprise. The SME were found to offer some special training services. The business women especially in Sharjah organize special courses that can enhance the acquisition of the skills to women. Findings done indicate that a large number of women interviewed got employed before starting their business. They had involve in some different employment opportunities earlier before. Some women involved in multitasking because they could hold their jobs and at the same time they run their business. These imply tha t most women involve in part time activities. The survey indicates the reason why they were motivated to enter into the business is because they wanted to become important entrepreneurs. A quarter of the interviewed women show that they were motivated entirely with the need to earn additional income.
